Obituary of Rachel E. Bertnik
Age 47 of Joliet passed away suddenly Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at her late residence. She was born in Joliet and a lifelong resident. Rachel graduated from Plainfield Central High School with the class of 1992. She was a nanny and daycare provider to many.
Rachel loved music and enjoyed concerts. In her younger days she enjoyed her canine companions. The last few years she really enjoyed her discussions relative to current events with her father.
She is survived by her parents, Michael and Grace (Capteina) Bertnik of Joliet; her sister, Susan M. (Bryan) Buck of Plainfield; her nieces, Morgan (Keaton) Cain of Cedar Rapids, IA, Lauren and Madilyn Buck of Plainfield.
Preceded by her paternal grandparents, Victor and Joan (Bartlet) Bertnik; and maternal grandparents, Frank and Jessie (Wolf) Capteina.
Visitation for Rachel E. Bertnik will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 noon. Interment will be held privately.
