Obituary of Mary G. Wilson

Mary G. Wilson, age 89, of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Lightways Hospice Home with her loving family by her side.

Born October 5, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Ethel (Hudson) Mihajlovich.  She worked as a housekeeper at St. Joseph Medical Center for many years, and was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, the Joliet Moose, Lodge #300, the Chaney Club and Croatian Cultural Club.

Mary was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She loved going to play Bingo and also enjoyed working crossword puzzles, listening to music, swimming, and dancing, especially line dancing.  She will be sadly missed by her family and friends and no one will ever take her place. 

She is survived by her loving children, Deborah (John) Paone, Donald Wilson, Terri Wilson, Cynthia Moreno and Darlene Florey-Wilson; six adoring grandchildren, Lynette, Lawrence, Aaron, Brandon, Clinton and Chantel; and many dear great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Robert Wilson; her parents; and one sister, Margaret Vier.

Visitation for Mary Wilson will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2022 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet.  Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Loy Schlote officiating.  Interment will follow at Elmhurst Cemetery.
