Obituary of Harry J. Dorman
Harry Joseph Dorman, age 85, a long time resident of Plainfield, and currently of Carterville, IL, passed away Monday, February 21, 2022 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
Born April 25, 1936 in Junction, IL, he was the son of Robert and Ruth Elizabeth (Mathieu) Dorman. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and worked as a union pipefitter and welder, serving as a foreman for many years.
Harry was an avid fisherman who also took flying lessons and loved flying. He also enjoyed music, playing the guitar, and dancing.
Surviving are his seven beloved children, Harry (Debra) Entwistle, Dawn (Randy) Hruby, Chuck Dorman, Windi Bergstrom, Hilary Dorman, Karli Dorman, and Katelyn (Jarien Freeman) Dorman; 10 loving grandchildren, Joseph and Maxwell Entwistle, Chrissi Dorman, Kala Geesey, Rilee and Bailey Bergstrom, Brianna Dorman, Shaelin Dorman, and Cole and Cassidy Freeman; his brothers, James “Jim” (Fran) Dorman and Robert “Bob” Dorman; numerous beloved nieces and nephews; and many extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.
Visitation for Harry Dorman will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services and interment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date.
