Age 72, of Wilmington, IL., passed away peacefully, Sunday November 27, 2011 at home. She was born January 9, 1939 in Morris, IL. to the late Lois M. (Ames) and Lyle B. Stitt and was raised in Verona, IL. where she attended Maxwell Grade School and graduated from Mazon High School.
She was the loving wife of 54 years to Richard Hagen; beloved mother of Connie Sue (late P.A.) Edwin of Dwight, Carol Louise (John) Greene of Joliet, Nannette Hagen of Burnham, IL, Marianne (Christopher) Byers of Wisconsin, Edith Marie (David) Lull of Glen Elyn, IL., Ruth Ann Martin of Wilmington, Audrey Lois (Erwin) Mock of Springfield, IL., Christine (Mihalis) Manetas of Patras, Greece., April Ann Hagen (deceased), and Richard T. (Tracy, nee Braund) Hagen of Braidwood, IL. Devoted grandmother of George, Matthew and Rebeccah Edwin; Andrew and Patrick Greene; Ruthie Kapetanios (deceased) and Dodgetta L. Martin (Charlie) Simpson; Elizabeth and Anne Marie Mock; Keaton and BriAnna Hagen. Also survived by one sister, Marilyn (Gene) Anderson of Galva, IL.; two brothers, Charles Stitt of Texas, and Jerry (Dixie) Stitt of Verona, IL. as well as many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her daughter, granddaughter, parents, one sister, Myrtle Stitt, three brothers, Stephen, Paul and Melville Stitt.
Nancy was an excellent homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, sewing, canning, gardening, painting and fellowship with Friends. Her greatest passion was spending time with her family.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, Morris where all friends and relatives are invited to gather from 9:00 a.m. until services begin at 11:00 a.m. with Mr. Ray Hoffmann officiating.
