Mr. Johnny Pissinis,
I haven't seen you in many years but have often thought of you throughout that time. You were a wonderful friend of my father's. When my father was sick and lived with me you never forgot to swing by for coffee and you always brought my father the newspaper as well as keeping him updated on what was going on around town through conversations. I like to think you both are catching up in the sky. God Bless you Johnny, it was a pleasure knowing you. Your family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers.

So sad to hear of John's passing. A great guy that I originally met in the late-1970s when he came into Golden Bear Restaurant on a regular basis. Would also see him out at the Joliet Beach Club and shared many conversations with him on the raft. He always talked highly about his job at Northern Illinois Gas and ironically I went to work there for more than 37 years. I always kept up with John and enjoyed our conversations at the retiree get-togethers.

John was a very kinda man. My husband Bruce took care of John’s yard the last couple of years. John would come to the shop and give me Bruce’s pay, and share a story or two with me. I will surely miss John’s weekly visits

John was a special person. He always had a smile and a story to tell. He was proud of his garden every year and loved to share his "crops". He loved the monthly NiCor retirees breakfast often being the first person there and the last to leave, sharing tales of work and his time in the service the entire meal. He was thoughtful of the other retirees always starting the phone chain when someone "passed" so everyone could go to the wake. Unfortunately the number in the group has become less and less. With John's death, the group has lost a loyal member and good friend.
