Obituary of Courtney Marie Flynn
Courtney Marie Flynn, age 24, left this world too soon on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. Flynn was born on July 4, 1997, the oldest daughter of Justin and Annette (nee Laphen) Flynn. She was a lifelong resident of Joliet and a 2015 graduate of Joliet West High School. Flynn was currently employed as a Transportation Lead with Amazon.
Flynn adored her cat. She enjoyed watching movies and loved spending time with her family. She was often heard playing the drums with her band, Augment. Flynn had her own sense of style and enjoyed being outdoors and traveling. Her artistic talent was evident in all of her paintings. She was the type of person who found inspiration everywhere. Her curiosity and drive to want to try new things made everyone around her want to join her. She was not afraid of change; the unknown wasn’t scary to her. She challenged the unknown and always conquered it. Flynn was a modern day adventurer. No mountain to high, no ghost was too spooky. The world was her playground and she made sure to enjoy every corner of it. “Loved” isn’t a strong enough word to how Flynn made you feel. She has touched the lives of many and was one of the most giving people you could meet. She had a very loving and caring soul and if she was your friend she was loyal to you until the end. She was truly a pure and wholesome soul. She was the definition of “WOW”.
Flynn is survived by her parents; one sister, Bethany Flynn; paternal grandparents, Terry and Vicki Flynn, maternal grandmother, Debra (Bill) Clegg; uncles, Kelly (Angela) Laphen and Jack Flynn; and her aunts, Stacey (Lou) Rojek , Annie (Cliff) Chen and Kate Flynn. Numerous cousins and friends also survive.
She is preceded by her maternal grandfather, Kelly Laphen.
Visitation for Courtney Marie Flynn will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL from 12:00 noon until the time of Funeral Service at 4:00 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
