George L. Robbins 

"Lenny"

Age 76, of Marseilles, IL and formerly Coal City and Joliet, passed from this life on Saturday, March 19, 2022.

He was born September 10, 1945, in Chicago, IL to the late Viola (Grubbs) and George Robbins.  George was raised in Des Plaines, IL and after serving in the U.S. Army he resumed working in the furniture industry which he did most of his life.

He is survived by his son, Robby (Jillian) Robbins, and several step-children; grandchildren, Ronnie Harris, Johnny (Mandy) Harris, Karen Harris, Chad (Alexis) Vespie, Kyron Cantelo, Sarah Lopez, Brandon (Kelly) Harris, and Nicole Harris.  He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Nelson; brother, William Robbins; former wife, Phyllis (Robbins) Paul and many great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, George Robbins and Viola (late Al) Martin; his sister, Valerie Murdy, and his brother, James Robbins; his step-sons, Ronald Douglas Harris, and William Robert Harris.

Lenny will be remembered for always putting others first.  Whether someone needed a roof over their head, was hungry, or needed a little advice and encouragement, Lenny never turned his back on anyone.  He found a way to help anyone who needed it.

All friends and relatives are invited to meet Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at 12:30 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 1201 W. Route 6 (at Deerpath Dr.) in Morris to join the procession to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL where Military Honors and committal services will begin at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Lenny's name can be sent to the funeral home in the care of the Robbins family to help with expenses and to be distributed to a local animal shelter.
