Obituary of Donna M. Ferris

Donna M. Ferris, age 61, of Plainfield, passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 24, 2022 at home, with her loving family by her side.

Born June 29, 1960 in Hillside, Maryland, she was the daughter of Arthur and Edith (Sylvia) Machado.

Surviving are her loving children, Jillian (Sam) Gronewold, Arin (fiancé Willard Weisbrodt) Ferris, Brenna (Mason) Luebbing, and Jake (Nancy) Ferris; and her adoring grandchildren, Bella and Rush Gronewold, Jayden Ferris, Presten Montgomery. Elliott Weisbrodt and Lyla Luebbing.  Donna is also the beloved daughter of Edith Machado; dear sister of Randal Machado and Robin Friday; fond aunt of Justyn Friday; and great-aunt of Sydney and Justyn Friday, Jr.  Donna’s former husband and the father of her children, Joe Ferris, also survives.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur F. Machado.

Donna lived life her way, firm in her values and beliefs.  As a mother of four, she mothered with loving affection and creativity, and loved her grandchildren dearly.  Donna loved riding free on her motorcycle listening to her favorite country music.  She will be remembered by her independent spirit and her incredible strength that was present till the very end.

Funeral services for Donna Ferris will be private and interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.  Fred C. Dames Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
