Obituary of Taryn Ann Schrader
Taryn Ann Schrader, age 36, of Shorewood, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at the Lightways Hospice Home with her loving family by her side, following a two and one-half year battle with brain cancer.
Born November 25, 1985 in Olympia Fields, she was the daughter of Russ and Sharon Lenich, and her family lived in Westmont prior to moving to Plainfield. She attended Bethany Lutheran Church and School, and was a graduate of Plainfield Central High School, Class of 2004, where she was a standout basketball player.
Taryn continued her education at Elmhurst College, where she also played basketball, and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She then worked for Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn before returning to school to complete her Master of Science degree at Lewis University, graduating as a Family Nurse Practitioner with high academic honors. For the past several years, she thrived in her position as Nurse Practitioner for Drs. Gandhi and Kantar in their medical practice in Joliet, where her care and compassion were admired and appreciated by her patients and co-workers.
In the words of her family, she was an unbelievable wife and mother, a devoted daughter, an awesome sister and aunt, and the best daughter-in-law one could ever ask for. She had a big smile, a wonderful sense of humor, and a beauty both inside and out which served as an enduring example for everyone who knew and loved her. Taryn was very strong in her faith and lived her life that way. She will be remembered for her kindness, patience and understanding, for being the best teacher to her kids, and her creativity, energy and loyalty as a wife, mother and Godmother.
Surviving are her beloved husband, Zachary Ryan Schrader of Shorewood; her three adoring children, Dylan Andrew (age 7), Grady Ryan (age 5), and Waylon Charles (age 3); her sister, Tamara (John) Paulun and their children, Hadley and Emilia; two brothers, J. R. Lenich and Jeremy Lenich; her husband’s parents, Kenneth and Pamela Schrader; brother-in law, Bradley (Kristina) Schrader and their children, Gavin, Kendall and Rhett; sister-in-law, Alyssa (Joe) DeCicco and their children, Joey and Layla; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Russ and Sharon; her grandparents, William and Virginia Lenich and Rudolph and Lucille Adams; and a nephew, Dominick DeCicco.
Visitation for Taryn Schrader will be held Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet. Main Street, Plainfield, where she will Lie-in-State from 9:00 a.m., until the time of services at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in St. Mary Immaculate Cemetery, Plainfield.
