Obituary of Casimir John Stec

Casimir J. “Casey” Stec, age 67, of Plainfield, passed away Monday, April 11, 2022 at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center, with his loving wife by his side.

Born July 25, 1954 in Berwyn, he was raised in Cicero, and attended St. Mary of Czestochowa Grade School and Morton East High School.  He was a proud member of Teamsters Local #703 for over 30 years, working as a truck driver for Dominick’s.

Casey was a loving, devoted and supportive husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  He loved his family so much, and he was their beloved “Papa.”  He loved music and enjoyed playing pool.   He was extremely proud of his Polish heritage and loved Polish food.  He will be remembered for his quick wit, his terrific sense of humor, and his great storytelling.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Linda R. (Korabik) Stec of Plainfield; two children, Patricia Magaña of Oswego, and Johnathon Stec of Plainfield; three grandchildren, Eleni (Jason) Regino, Isabela Magaña and Alejandro Magaña, Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Grayson and Charlotte Regino; one sister, Nadine (Chris) Pope; one brother, Leonard “Lenny” (Maria) Jaramillo; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernadine (Pryzbyla) Jaramillo, and his father, Jon Stec.

Visitation for Casimir Stec will be held Monday, April 18, 2022 from 3:00 p.m., until the time of funeral services at 7:30 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet.  Cremation rites will be accorded following services and interment will be private.
