Obituary of Eugene R. Allen

Eugene R. Allen, age 84, of Crest Hill, passed away peacefully, Friday, April 15, 2022 at Lightways Hospice Home, with his loving family by his side.

Born April 3, 1938 in Los Angeles, CA, he was a graduate of UCLA.  Eugene worked as an executive in sales and market forecasting for several food and candy manufacturers.

In his earlier years, he had a pilot’s license and enjoyed flying.  He was also an avid tennis player and an animal lover.

Eugene met the love of his life, Judith A. Wilson, while they worked together for Heinz Foods, and they enjoyed 53 years of marriage.  Judith survives, along with his children, Kenneth (Carolyn) Allen of Lakewood, IL and Amy Allen of Lisle, IL; and three grandchildren, Kaetlyn, Daren and Miranda Allen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Gladys (Samuels) Allen; his step-mother, Matille Allen; and one sister, Jeanette McCready.

Cremation rites will be accorded and memorial services will be held at a later date.  Fred C. Dames Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
