Obituary of Shirley A. Brown

Shirley Ann Brown, (nee Hammerstein), age 86, of Dwight, formerly of Marley, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Lightways Hospice Home in Joliet, IL. Shirley was born in Chicago on October 26, 1935 to the late Charles and Margaret Hammerstein.

Surviving are her children, Marvin (Terry )Brown, Jim (Chris) Brown, Margaret McGrath and Gary (Darla) Brown; seven grandchildren, Jamie (Marty) Hughes, Sara (Joe) LePore, Jenna (Patrick) Riccolo, Jeff (Annie) Brown, John Brown, Gwyn Brown and Scott (Gabby) Brown; eleven great-grandchildren, Thomas, Seth, Makayla and Liam Brown, McKenzy Brown,  Joey, Michael and Nicholas LePore, Samuel and Sadie Riccolo, and Elle Brown; two sisters-in-law, Jackie Hammerstein and Bonnie (the late Charles) Davy; special nephews and family, Steve (Mary) Hammerstein, Megan and Lindsey Hammerstein; two special nieces, Janet (Phil) Harvey and Cathy (Al) Davis; and several other nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death  by her husband, Marvin Brown; her son, Tom Brown; her parents; and two brothers, Charles J. and Tom Hammerstein.

Visitation for Shirley A. Brown will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at 12:00 Noon at the  Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 at Deerpath Drive in Morris. Interment for Shirley will be private. Please omit flowers. Memorials in her name to Lightways Hospice would be appreciated.
