Obituary of Robert Henry Chaney
Robert “Bobby” Chaney, age 47, passed away suddenly and peacefully at his home in Braidwood on Monday, April 25, 2022. Bobby was born in Joliet on January 8, 1975, and was a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Joliet West High School. He was employed by Camping World in Braidwood, The Forge in Joliet, and Top Fuel Saloon in Braidwood. Bobby was a good-hearted, fun-loving prankster, who enjoyed adventure. Bobby especially loved his road trips to Starved Rock State Park. He enjoyed sports especially his Chicago Bears and Cubs because every year this was going to be their year. He loved music and worked to help promote local bands. Above all, Bobby loved his family and friends, and they will miss him dearly.
Bobby is survived by his father, Jack Loftis, Sr., his wife, Martha Chaney; son, Joseph Floyd; his siblings, Paul (Sherrie) Mayfield, Angie (Brian) Guardiola, Tammy (David) Moran, and Jack Loftis, Jr.; nieces, Amanda (Tom) Eboli and Kari (Joseph) Bottari; nephew, Steven Loftis; great-nephews and nieces, Sonny and Annie Bottari; Landon, Olivia, and Nicholas Eboli; grandson Xavier Wayne; special brother from another mother, Stevie (Tina) Watts; and so many more special friends.
Preceded in death by his mother, Katie Loftis; his brother, Richard “Darrell” Loftis; a sister in infancy, Samantha Chaney; and his grandparents, Edgar Johnson, Dee Simmons, Brady, and Nancy Loftis.
