Obituary of Luis Najera
Husband, Father, a great man and gentleman. Luis Najera passed away May 7th, 2022 at the age of 84.
Born June 21, 1937 in Guatemala to Mother Graciela Najera. Luis was the third youngest of seven children. He is survived by his wife Zoila Najera and his son Luis Najera II. Luis (Compadre) Najera was loved by all who knew him and was known as a kind and generous man. Welcoming to all with a spirt to include, learn, teach, and adventure. A clever man filled with ingenuity; Luis or (big Lu) was a Mechanic by trade but could take on any task placed in front of him. A connoisseur of classic cars/motorcycles, oldies music and culinary experience his interests were many and his knowledge was expansive.
A man of many talents with much experience, he would hold many roles for those around him. Little league coach, family travel guide, handyman, family cook but most importantly a good husband and an even greater father. The overwhelming generosity he put forth to those around him could only be told by the many stories those who loved him could tell. A trailblazer in a new land and a new world Luis (Oswaldo) would make his home in Illinois with his wife and son and would go on to care, provide, and love them for the remainder of his time.
Peaceful and full of joy Luis (el gordito Najera) would age into a happy life with his family who loved him. He lived an eventful life full of adventure and travel as a young man. Later he would establish a family, raise his son who he would love dearly and share his big heart, wisdom and experience with them. In his advanced years he would finally have his time to rest and enjoy all that his hard work had given him. He would see his wife retire at home alongside him and his son established in life, with the memory of his father as his best friend and the greatest man he ever received the pleasure to meet.
