Age 33. Suddenly Saturday, April 28, 2012 at her residence as the result of complications arising from a lifelong battle with severe Rheumatoid Arthritis. Born in Gibson City, IL, a lifelong Morris resident and resident of Coal City for the past 7 years. Attended Joliet Junior College. A graduate of Morris Community High School class of 1997. Elise was a longtime in home health care provider. A long time member of the Coal City Area Club where she spent many of her summers.
Preceded by her maternal grandfather, Richard T. (Helen) Lawless; her maternal grandmother, Jacquelyn "Grammy" Lawless; her paternal grandfather, Charles A. Hammerstein; her godchild, Ashley Lynn Walls.
Survived by her daughter Taylor Lynn Rose Peterson; her fiancee about to be married September 29, 2012 Eric Peterson both of Coal City; her father, Robert W. Hammerstein of Morris; her mother, Donna (nee Lawless) (Richard) Davis of Charlotte, N.C.; her grandmother, Bonnie (Chuck) Davy of Morris; two sisters, Casey (Rick Smith) Hammerstein of Morris and Nicole Hammerstein of Charlotte, N.C.; one brother, Robert J. Hammerstein of Charlotte, N.C. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends also survive.
Funeral services for Elise M. Hammerstein will be Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Mr. Michael Lawless officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials to defray final expenses to her family would be appreciated. As it was Elise's request cremation rites will be accorded following funeral services. Visitation Friday 4-9 p.m. and Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. at:
