McKenzie Collier

Obituary of McKenzie Reese Collier

McKenzie Reese Collier

McKenzie Reese Collier, of Crest Hill, formerly of Bolingbrook, passed away unexpectedly and too soon, at the age 28, on Thursday, June 2, 2022. McKenzie was born on November 18, 1993 in Chicago, the daughter of Michael and Peggy (nee Wright) Collier and attended Bolingbrook High School.

McKenzie was an outgoing girl to say the least.  She had a bigger than life personality and an even bigger heart.  Regardless of where she was, she had the ability to make friends and light up a room with her contagious smile.  McKenzie was born beautiful and grew into her own sense of style.  She loved her clothes; preferred eating her sweets over anything else, being the life of the party, and enjoyed spending time her friends.  She was not a traditional girl in any sense of the word.  She was all about the sparkle of life!

McKenzie is survived by her loving parents; brother, Sean Collier; step-brother, Chris Collier; aunts, Sue (Raymond) Petty, Sally (Darwin) Bushong, and Cindy (Harry) Olszewski; great-aunt, Bonita McDaniels; and her devoted canine companion, “Gwen”.  Numerous cousins and countless friends also survive.

She is preceded by her maternal grandparents, Norman and Cynthia Wright; and her paternal grandmother, Barbara Collier.

A Celebration of Life for McKenzie R. Collier will be held from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m., on July 3, 2022, at the Delwood Park, Woods Dr., Lockport, IL.

As it was McKenzie’s request, cremation rites have been accorded.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Partnership to End Addiction would be appreciated.
