Lorraine Frances Shepler
Age 93, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Saturday, June 11, 2022. Lorraine was born in Chicago to the late Edward and Elsie Everitt on March 12, 1929. Lorraine grew up on the West side of Chicago and attended Austin High School. She had been a Morris resident for the past 22 years. She was married to Harry D. Shepler, Jr., and the two celebrated many years of happy marriage before his passing in 1992. Lorraine was a loving mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother and she had a strong love for animals. She will be greatly missed.
Lorraine is survived by her grandchildren, Jaclyn Gilbert and William David Gilbert; great-grandchildren, Salvatore and Rogue DeQuattro; nieces Joyce Van Hecke, Jeanne Hennigan, Linda Johnston, and Loni (Hank) Harseim; and many more nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Harry D. Shepler, Jr.; her children, Daniel Shepler and Lori Shepler-Gilbert; a grandson in infancy, William Carl Gilbert; brothers William and Junior Everitt; and sister Ethel Purvis.
All friends and relatives are invited to join in a celebration of Lorraine’s life to be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022, from 4-8 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 at Deerpath Drive in Morris. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday morning, June 17, 2022. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery where Lorraine will be laid to rest beside her husband Harry.
