Obituary of AnnaMaria Corsetti

AnnaMaria (DiNello-DelPapa) Corsetti

Age 80, of Joliet, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Rome, Italy, on December 1, 1941, to the late Dante and Flavia (DiNello) DelPapa; she and her family immigrated to Venezuela before settling in New York. Shortly after, she married Pietro “Peter” Corsetti, moved to Joliet, and raised a family.

AnnaMaria was constantly involved in the community. She was a volunteer for the Ascension St. Joseph–Joliet Auxiliary, an active member of the Visitation and Aid Society of Joliet, and served as president and member of the American Italian Cultural Society. She also taught Italian classes at Joliet Junior College and the American Italian Cultural Society and even endowed a scholarship for foreign language students at Joliet Junior College.

AnnaMaria is survived by her beloved husband, Peter Corsetti; children, Tanja (William) Conte, Adria Meilinger, Dino (Nicole) Corsetti, and Nino (Michelle) Corsetti; loving and proud grandmother of eleven grandchildren, Alessandra, Caesare, Vittoria, T.J., Christopher, Kelly, Devin (Meagan) Bruce, Lorenzo, Marco, Sabrina, and Dante; great-grandmother of Jace Mills, Aidan Mills and Ivy Bruce; loving sister of Emma (John) Fabilli and Temistocle (Ivana) DelPapa; beloved sister-in-law of Paul (Nancy) Corsetti, Connie (Mark) Carey, Victor (Barbara) Corsetti and Lucy (Joseph) Pluth; many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends survive.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Maria; and her parents.

Visitation for AnnaMaria Corsetti will be held Thursday July 7, 2022 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet from 10:00 am until prayers begin at 12:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of St. Anthony, 100 N. Scott St., Joliet.  Interment is being held privately by the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in AnnaMaria’s name can be made to the American Italian Cultural Society Scholarship Fund.
