Obituary of Karen M. Honsik
Karen M. Honsik, passed away on her 65th birthday, Friday, July 1, 2022, surrounded by her loving family at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital. She was born in Chicago in 1957 to the late Harold and Elaine (nee Bilinski) Meiners.
Karen graduated from Romeoville High School and was a long-time resident of Romeoville. She enjoyed gardening and painting ceramics. She was very family oriented, bringing everyone together, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her selfless ways, always putting everyone else’s needs before her own.
Karen is survived by her adoring husband of 42 years, Kurt W. Honsik; her loving children, Ron (Misty) Honsik of Joliet and Amanda Hipshur of Romeoville; her adoring grandchildren Annie, Emily, Joey, and Jack; dear sister of Kathy (Rich) Dangles, Harold Jr. "Bud" (Elaina) and Jerry (the late Cathy Jo) Meiners. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends also survive.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Michael J. Honsik.
Visitation for Karen M. Honsik will be Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville, IL.
