William K. Hardy
Age 91. Monday, April 27, 2009 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born in Joliet to the late William and Stella (nee Hennings) Hardy, he was a lifelong resident. A United States Army veteran with the 103rd Division in communications. A graduate of Joliet Township High School Class of 1936. He was a Marketing Engineer with Commonwealth Edison, retiring after 43 years of service. Member of the Joliet Elks Lodge #296, Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #300 and VFW Cantigny Post #367. He was an active parishioner at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. His greatest loves were playing bridge and playing golf.
Survived by his wife, Helen (nee Nevin) Hardy; children, Barbara (Richard) Young, Robert (Mary Beth) Hardy and Michael (Fran) Hardy; grandchildren, Julie Voitik, Amie Donahue, Michelle Hardy, Cameron Hardy, Sarah Hardy, Jacqui Hardy, Daniel Hardy, James Hardy and Rose White; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Carletta Barnard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by one son, James Hardy; two sisters, Dorothy McSweeney and Marge Kestel; one brother, Wendall Hardy.
Funeral Services for William K. Hardy will be Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 8:45 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Friday 3-7 p.m. at:
