Age 69, formerly of the Wilmington and Joliet area, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Baylor Medical Center Hospice Unit, Carrollton, TX. She was born February 6, 1942 in Chicago to the late Anne (Montana) and Henry Englebrecht.
She was the beloved wife of 41 years to Tom Harms; loving mother of Jennifer (Jim) Richardson of McKinney, TX, the late Larry Harms, Tom Jr. (Bobbie) Harms of Lowell, IN and Tim (Heather) Harms of Dwight, IL; proud grandmother of Ryan and Heather Richardson; Tyler and Madison Harms; Alyssa, Kaitlyn and Addison Harms; dear sister of Viola (late Ed) Mueller of CA and Jim (Jan) Englebrecht of Goose Lake, IL. Many nieces, nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by her son, Larry; her parents.
Maria was employed as a Cafeteria Manager at the New Lenox and Homer Glen K-Mart stores. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Wilmington VFW , Wilmington Moose Lodge and the South Wilmington Sportsmans Club. She loved to play cards and the slots, and also enjoyed RVing, spending the winters in Arcadia, FL and the summer months in Bigfork, MN.
Funeral Services for Maria Harms will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated. Visitation Wednesday 5-8 p.m. at:
