I met Tom in a English class our freshmen year at Illinois. This class was required for all incoming engineering students. It was call Rhet 105. For some reason Tom stood out in that class of 35. A year and a half later, he joined the fraternity I was a member of, Phi Kappa Theta. I said “ I know you”. He said he remembered me as well. We had a lot of good times together at the Phi Kap house. When we were seniors, he told me he was working on an idea of his to put computer punch card data on a new form. Magnetic cassette tape. I wished him well. A year or so later, a guy named Bill Gates came up with the same idea, and started a little company called Microsoft. Who would have thought? Tom was always ahead of his time, but we sure had a good time in the moment. He will be missed. In the Bonds my friend. John Bergo
