Carl Thomas Mitchell

Carl Thomas Mitchell, passed away at the age of 51, on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at his home in Joliet, IL.  Carl was born on March 22, 1971, the son of the late Lowell Thomas and Patricia Ann (nee Hutson) Mitchell.  Born and raised in Joliet, he grew up in the Ridgewood neighborhood and attended Joliet Central High School.  He’s been employed for the last 20 years with both Shell and BP.  

Carl enjoyed anything the outdoors had to offer.  He enjoyed exploring whenever he could.  Carl had a great sense of humor and took joy in making those around him smile and laugh.  His family was very important to him.  There will be a void in the hearts of all who loved him.

Carl is survived by his children, Stephanie (Steve) Carter, Misty Mitchell, Autumn Mitchell, and Amber Crawford; his grandson, Thomas Smith; siblings, Kathy Reichhardt, Danny(Doreen) Mitchell, Debbie Mendez, Linda (Donnie) Hahn, Connie (Gregory) Rose, Dennis (Yvonne) Mitchell, Cindy Whitten; as well as friend and the mother of his children, Debbie Smith.  Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.  

He is preceded by his parents and brother in law Gregory Rose. 

Funeral Services for Carl Thomas Mitchell will be held privately by the family.
