Obituary of Linda Sue Strysik
Linda Sue Strysik, age 64, of Crest Hill, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Lightways Hospice with her loving family by her side, following a brave battle with ALS.
Born October 16, 1957 in Joliet, to Raymond “Gumbie” and Eleanor (Erickson) Pesavento, she was a graduate of Lockport Township High School. She married her best friend and the love of her life, Scott J. Strysik, and they enjoyed 31 years of marriage until his passing on January 5, 2012.
Linda worked as a chemist for NALCO Water for 38 years. She was an active member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and was a former member of the Crest Hill City Council and the Planning Commission. She also enjoyed her membership and the many friends she made through the Italian Cultural Club and the Crest Hill Women’s Civic League.
A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt, she will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. Her children will also always remember how supportive she was of them, and all of their activities throughout their lives.
Linda is survived by her loving children, Adam (Eli) Strysik and Laura (Derek) Riley; four beloved grandchildren, Eitoku “Jake” Strysik and Mason, Jackson and Charlotte Riley; her mother, Eleanor Pesavento; two sisters, Debby (Roy) Mitchell and Patty (Brian) Kulesza; her sisters-in-law, Donna (Dave) Vieceli, Wendy (Brad) Dent, and Bonnie Strysik; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and her faithful pet companion, Emma.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Scott; her father, Ray; and her in-laws, Jake and Betty Strysik.
Visitation for Linda Strysik will be held Sunday, August 21, 2022 at 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 22, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1800 N. Dearborn Street, Crest Hill. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville.
