Obituary of Joyce Harris
Harris, Joyce Anne
Age 66, of Joliet, passed away unexpectantly at home on Friday, August 24, 2012. Born November 13, 1945 in Joliet to the late August and Mary (nee States) Dallavia, she was a graduate of Joliet Township High School. She worked her entire career for Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center as a ward clerk.
Survived by her beloved husband of 27 years, William K. Harris; three children, Lorraine (Daniel) Horton Benes of Locust Grove, GA, Kevin (Kerri) Harris of Mazon, and Julie (Ron) Koven of Romeoville; five grandchildren, Felicia and Liza Benes, Kevin Harris Jr, Patrick LeRette and Gavin Koven; two sisters, Jane (late Tony) Richie of Elwood and Mary Lou (Joe) Maland of Coal City; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her first husband, Haskell "Hack" Horton (1980); one brother, William Dallavia; and her parents.
Joyce was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who put her family and the needs of others before herself. She enjoyed the simple things in life most like American Legion Band concerts, Gaither Homecoming, going out to eat, and especially shopping at Walmart.
Graveside Services for Joyce will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery in Elwood with interment to follow. Memorials in her name to the Arthritis Foundation for research would be appreciated. Visitation Tuesday 5-8 p.m. at:
