Obituary of Rosemary Webb

Rosemary (Scahill) Webb, age 99, passed away peacefully at Sunny Hill Nursing Home on Monday, August 22, 2022.  Rosemary was born on April 1st, 1923 in Joliet, IL to the late James R. “Hoppy” and Anna (nee Polochi) Scahill.  On February 5th, 1944 Rosemary wed William M. Webb in Joliet, IL.  They shared 25 years together before his passing in 1969.

According to Rosemary, she had a wonderful life.  She was blessed with loving parents, and fun-loving sisters.  She married the love of her life and together they raised eight children.  Her positive influence and spirituality are her legacy.

 Rosemary is survived by her children Judy (Jerry) Capista , Cathy Phelan, Patsy (the late John) Rice, Bill (the late Judy) Webb, and Jim (Sharon) Webb; her daughter-in-law Audrey Webb;  as well as seventeen grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren, and nine great, great grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her husband William; sons Mike Webb, Bob Webb, and Den Webb; grandson Tony Capista; as well as her sisters, Anna Marie Foster and Joanne Tapella, and three brothers in infancy. 

A Memorial Mass for Rosemary Webb is scheduled for Monday, September 19th, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Church of St. Jude, Joliet . Family will receive friends and relatives from 9:00 a.m. until the beginning of services at 10:00 a.m. As it was her wish, her earthly remains have been donated to the Anatomical Gift Association for the further advancement of science.
