Carolyn Eisenbeis

Obituary of Carolyn Sue Eisenbeis

Carolyn Sue Eisenbeis, age 72, of Plainfield, passed away peacefully, Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Lightways Hospice, with her loving family by her side.

Born August 17, 1950 in Joliet, IL; she was the daughter of Wayne and Helena Joan (Calhoun) King.  Carolyn was a graduate of Joliet West High School and Concordia College, Memphis, TN where she earned an Associate’s Degree as a Medical Assistant.

Surviving are her beloved husband of 41 years, Jesse Eisenbeis; her five children, Natalie Whisne, David (Stefanie) Peters, William Alberico, Dawn (Kenneth) DuPree, and Jason Eisenbeis; ten grandchildren; Justin Whisne, Bradley Peters, Alyssa Alberico, Ryne Alberico, William Alberico, Jacob Alberico, Isabelle Alberico, Meghan DuPree, Hailey DuPree, and Alan DuPree; three great-grandchildren; Emilia, Julian, and Damian Alberico; and one brother, Ken Haley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother. Jack.

Carolyn has imparted onto this Earth a lasting legacy of love, joy, and laughter. She was known to her loving husband, Jesse, as the most wonderful wife that any man could ever call his own.  The love shared between the two of them for more than four decades is obvious to anyone that was lucky enough to witness their bond together.  She was known to her children as an incredible source of strength, love, and passion for life. Her natural ability to spark joy and laughter in all who crossed her path was nothing short of awe-inspiring.  She was known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren by many names, Bama, Grammie Jammie, and others, but the name that they called her was only a simple representation of the profound love that they carried for her.  When distance required keeping in touch via phone, Carolyn could always be counted on to bring her easy humor, often leaving the family on the other end of the phone doubled over from laughter.  That was Carolyn.  She believed that everything worth doing was also worth doing with a smile, and a laugh, and love.

Her family will always remember her incredible spark of creativity, and her love for baseball (especially Anthony Rizzo), Lady Gaga, puzzles, and her dog, Molly.  Her bright pink hair and signature smile will serve as a beacon for each of them throughout the rest of their days.
