Obituary of Raymond George Locknar

Raymond George Locknar, age 85, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, September 9, 2022. He was born in Joliet and a long time Joliet area resident before retiring to Morris 20 years ago. Raymond was a tool and die maker by trade, working for Railoc and Plainfield Molding over the years. He also enjoyed woodworking in his spare time, and was the family's handyman. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and will be dearly missed by all.

Preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Lois F. Locknar; his parents, Stanley & Appolonia Loknar; and three sisters and five brothers.

Survived by his two sons, Steve (Ellen) Locknar of West Jefferson, NC and Greg (Chris) Locknar of Washington, IL; two daughters, Lori (Don) Mangers of Oswego, IL and Janet (Tim) Konicek of Rockford, IL; 10 grandchildren, Leslie (Derek) Elmer, Ashley Locknar, Breann and Megan Locknar, Dave and Jeffrey Zak, Danny Mangers, Rebecca (Nate) Koresh, Erin (Jared) Sangsomwong and Christina Konicek; and six great-grandchildren, Drayton, Marlee, Remington, Charlotte, Vivienne, and Josephine.

Funeral services for Raymond G. Locknar will be Monday, September 12, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. As it was Raymond's wish cremation rites will be accorded following the funeral mass, and he will be laid to rest alongside his wife Lois at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery in Crest Hill at a later date. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black (at Essington Roads), Joliet, IL.
