Obituary of Phyllis Ann Bielec-Quigley

Phyllis Ann Bielec-Quigley, age 84, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, Friday, September 9, 2022 at Sunny Hill Nursing Home of Will County.  Phyllis was born June 18, 1938 in Mt. Vernon, IL.

Phyllis was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved time spent with her family, especially her adoring grandchildren.  She loved gambling and visiting the casinos, and enjoyed the older, classic country music, travelling, and visiting the zoo.  Phyllis also enjoyed the many friendships she made as a member and past officer of the Lockport VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Laurie (Ponch) Palacios of Joliet, Kim (Andy) Zamora of Manhattan, and Kay (the late John) Ventura of Joliet; her step-daughter, Pat Potter of Joliet; eleven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her two special loving nieces, Brenda Hicks and Connie Modlin. 

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Adam Bielec in 1988, and William Quigley, Sr. in 2018; her parents, Howard “Jake” and Beulah (McConnaughhay) Keen; two sons, Frank Bielec and Robert (Margie) Bielec;   one sister, Doris (Jack) McCleary; one brother, Ron (Audrey) Keen; and her beloved black lab companion, Hannah.

Visitation for Phyllis will be held Friday, September 16, 2022, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet, IL.  Funeral services will be Friday, at 11:00 a.m., from the funeral home to St. Mary’s Nativity Catholic Church, where Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m.  Interment services will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville.
