Obituary of Mary Lee Browning

Age 75, of Minooka, passed away peacefully at the Arcadia  on Saturday, September 10, 2022.

Mary was the daughter of the late Maynard and Ruby (Gibson) McCrea. She was born on May 19, 1947 in Waterloo, IA, and was raised and educated in Granite City. After graduation she relocated to the suburbs of Chicago where she remained the rest of her life. She attended Joliet Junior College and received her Associate's Degree in accounting. She went on to become the accounting manager for First Midwest Bank until retiring in 2001.

Mary's true passion was always travel, some of her favorite places to go to being the Caribbean and the ocean. She  loved dancing and listening to all types of music, from country to 1970's rock.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 22 years, Robert Avery Browning; her children, Kathy Smith and Mark Miller; her siblings, Mickey (Bobbi) McCrea, Lois Thompson, Wayne (Cheryl) McCrea, Myrna (Paul) Pongniphon, Julie Hassell, Anthony McCrea and Ava (Rich) Carr; 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Patsy Cherry and Rachel Alford.

A  Memorial Gathering will be held for Mary Lee Browning on Friday, Septmber 16, 2022 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m..  As it was Mary's wish cremation rites have been accorded.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to the Salvation Army would be appreciated.
