Obituary of John J. Zolecki, Jr.

John Joseph Zolecki, Jr., of Joliet, passed away at the age of 70, on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at The Parc of Joliet.  He was born in Chicago, IL, on November 28, 1951, the son of the late John Joseph Zolecki, Sr. and Dolores (Budvytis) Zolecki.  John grew up in Cicero, Illinois and graduated from Morton East High School.  John retired from MCM Electronics in Springboro, Ohio where he worked for many years. When he wasn’t hard at work, John enjoyed watching sports, gambling with friends, and relaxing with a cold beer in his hand.

John is survived by his children, Michelle (Brian) La Mar, John (Lisa) Zolecki, Joseph (Mallory) Zolecki, and Kimberly Zolecki; his step-children, Tom, Michael, and Scott; many grandchildren; and his three sisters, Juanita (the late William) Piotrowski-Kizior, Mary Ellyn (Kenneth) Bowgren, and Deborah (the late Kenneth) McLeod.

He is preceded in death by his wife Mary (nee Reiter) Zolecki; his parents; and his second wife, Arlene A. Zolecki.

Visitation for John Joseph Zolecki, Jr., will be held on Thursday, October 6th, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. 

Inurnment rites will take place privately by the family at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name made to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
