Obituary of Samantha Lynn De La Cruz

(nee Bourland) Age 53 of Wilmington, passed away suddenly Friday, October 7, 2022 at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center with her husband by her side.  She was born in Texarkana, TX, the daughter of Reginald and Sue (Adams) Bourland, she was a lifelong resident of Illinois.  Samantha graduated from Joliet West High School with the Class of 1986.  She was formerly employed by Georgio’s Restaurant, New Lenox Family Restaurant, and most recently, Silver Cross Hospital.  Samantha loved bowling and helping to raise her grandchildren.

Surviving is her loving husband of 32 years, Robert De La Cruz of Wilmington; her children, Stephanie De La Cruz of Joliet, Robert D. De La Cruz of Wilmington, Brittany Aaron De La Cruz of Wilmington and Erasmo G. De La Cruz of Wilmington; her grandchildren, Christopher, Amelia, Joel Jr. and Esmeralda; her father, Reginald Lynn Bourland of Joliet; her brother, Robert G. “Grady” (Loretta) Bourland of Crest Hill; Her sister, Tiffine (Tina) Scott of Joliet; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded by her mother, Sue Bourland (2022).

Visitation for Samantha Lynn De La Cruz will be Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd.
