Obituary of Carole M. Malnar

Carole M. Malnar, age 90, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. Born Christmas Day, 1931 to the late Joseph and Mamie Kochevar, Carole was a lifelong Joliet area resident. On April 11, 1953, Carole married Bernard Malnar, and the two celebrated 65 years of marriage together before his passing in 2018. She and her late husband were longtime parishioners of the Cathedral at St. Raymond, and they both worked many years together at the Holy Family Society. While her passing is difficult for her family, it gives them comfort knowing that she and Bernie are together again.

Carole is survived by her two children, son Garry (Paula) Malnar, and daughter Valerie (Richard) Pasteris; her grandchildren Julie Cooper, Laura Malnar, Jessica (Zachary) Barr, and Michael Pasteris; and two great grandchildren Anika and Eleanor Barr. She is also survived by her nieces, Kathy (Michael) Konrad and Kimberly (Ed) Wood.

She is precede in death by her husband, Bernard Malnar; her parents; and brothers Robert Kochevar and Joseph (Jean) Konrad.

Funeral services for Carole M. Malnar will be held Friday, October 14, 2022 with visitation from 9:30 -11 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet then proceeding to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery, Crest Hill.
