Rosemary Zell

Obituary of Rosemary Zell

Rosemary Zell, age 91, of Dwight, IL, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, September 29, 2022, in her home with her family by her side.  Rosemary was born on February 28, 1931, in Joliet, IL, to the late Anton and Jennie Grskovic.

Rosemary graduated from Providence High School.  She was married to Anton Zell, Sr. for 43 years until his passing in 1997.  Rosemary was a dedicated mother who could always be counted on to consider the risks and rewards of any given situation and offer sage advice to her children.  Her ultimate goal of steering her family towards positive outcomes was never far from her mind.  She was forever guided by her faith as she was well-known to pray her rosary on a daily basis.

She enjoyed her many years at her cabin on the Fox River, surrounded by family and friends.  She was extremely fond of the many activities she shared with George Buric. Whether spending an afternoon fishing, or meeting with Sue, Pam, and John at the Park Church in Streator for a musical jam session; just being together with friends was precious to her.  A special note of recognition goes out to her friend and beautician,Trudy DeLong, who went out of her way to make sure that Rosemary’s hair always met her high expectations.

Rosemary is survived by her children Susan (William) Gilbert and Anton Zell, Jr.; grandchildren, Jennifer (Paul) Johnson, Nicole (Jamie) Dransfeldt, Anton Zell III, David Zell, Jillian Zell; great-grandchildren, Amanda (Jack) Steichen, Maci and Cason Johnson, Bailey and Jake Dransfeldt; and her dear friend, George Buric.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Anton Zell, Sr.; and her brothers, Raymond and Edward Grskovic.

Graveside services for Rosemary Zell were held privately at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery in Crest Hill, IL.
