Anna Schultz

Obituary of Anna M. Schultz

Anna M. “Ann” Schultz, age 96, formerly of Chicago, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the Timbers of Shorewood, with her loving daughters by her side.

Born September 5, 1926 in Chicago, she was the daughter of the late Julius and Gisella (Kuh) Bruckner.  She was a graduate of Gage Park High School and worked in various secretarial and administrative capacities for Sinclair Refining Company, Midwest Handling, and Lever Brothers.

Ann was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  She was a woman ahead of her time, attending Chicago Business College for two years, learning to drive before it was the norm, and successfully balancing a career outside the home with an active and nurturing family life.  She set an outstanding example for her daughters throughout their lives, and will be remembered for leading a happy life, and for her attention to detail.

She had many interests and activities, but especially enjoyed singing, volunteering, crocheting, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.  Ann was previously a lifelong member of Grace United Church of Christ, Chicago, and also enjoyed being a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Joliet.

Anna is survived by her beloved daughters, Nancy (Dr. Thomas) Moore of Shorewood, and Carol (Don) Lemke of Cedarburg, WI; and five adoring grandchildren, Thomas “TJ” (Maggie) Moore, Charles (Erin) Moore, Karl Lemke, Sarah (Steven) Quist and Joseph Lemke.   Ann is also blessed with many wonderful family members as well as lifelong friends and many dear new friends made while living at The Carillon in Plainfield and The Timbers of Shorewood.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Schultz (1990); her parents; and one brother, Walter Bruckner.

The family is very grateful to Ann’s many caregivers over the years, especially Junie, Jem and Melba, as well as the Timbers of Shorewood staff.
