Obituary of Timothy Dayle McGinnis

Timothy Dayle McGinnis

Timothy Dayle McGinnis, passed away at the age of 63, on Friday, October 28, 2022, at St. Joseph Medical Center.  Tim was born on August 3, 1959, the only child of Truman and Judith (nee Gerard) McGinnis. Born and raised in the south side of Chicago, he was a graduate of Luther Southside High School and studied Culinary Arts at Washburn College. He retired from Amtrak after 27 dedicated years as a Lead Service Attendant.

Tim’s bigger-than-life personality was only matched by the love he had for his wife.  He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her, whether they were at home watching TV or attending services at Hope United Methodist Church, having her by his side filled his heart with joy.    His warm welcoming spirit made him easy to get along with, and his witty charm always kept you laughing.  To know Tim was to love him.  His presence will be missed by all who had the privilege of crossing his path.

Tim is survived by his loving wife of eight years, Debra (nee Buerger) McGinnis; his mother, Judith McGinnis; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded by his father, Truman D. McGinnis.
