Obituary of Asteria Acas

Age 73 of Joliet, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Loyola University Medical Center’s Foster G. McGaw Hospital surrounded by her loving family.  Asteria was born in the Philippines, the daughter of the late Juan and Teresita Sanico on August 15, 1949. 

Asteria is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Orlando; her children, Tess (Roy) Pura, Shiela (Jonathan) Jacobson, Allan (Riza) Acas and Marlon (Ann) Acas; grandchildren, Joshua and Alexis Pura; Rhys, Reiylan Ayre Acas; Charles (Ellani) Acas, Edward (Lizzy) Acas; her step-grandchildren, Ryne and Brooke Jacobson; great-grandchildren, Elijah and Ezabella.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Dante Acas and her siblings.

Asteria will be remembered for her kind personality and beautiful soul.  Some of her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, cooking, baking and listening to drama’s on Filipino radio.  Her passion was her family and any time spent with them.

A visitation for Asteria Acas will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022 from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022, 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 710 W. Marion St., Joliet, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery.
