Obituary of George William Wukits
George William Wukits, age 61, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 7, 2022, at his home in Gardner. He was born in Chicago on June 18, 1961, to Edward and Catherine (nee Kasper) Wukits. George served as a Cook County Sheriff's Deputy for nearly 30 years, retiring in 2018. He was a firearms instructor for the department and was known for being an excellent marksman, even winning numerous awards for his skills. After his retirement, he had most recently been working for Hoffman Trucking and enjoyed his time there.
George is survived by his mother, Catherine Wukits; his brother, John Wukits; aunt and uncles Frances and Salvatore Settipane and Wayne Crawford; cousin Barbara Crawford and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and many good friends and coworkers.
He is preceded in death by his father, Edward Wukits; and brother, Richard Wukits.
As it was George's wish, cremation rites have been accorded. Private family interment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in Chicago, IL, where he will be laid to rest near his brother and grandparents. Arrangements entrusted to the Fred C.
