Obituary of Vaughn E. Turner

Vaughn E. Turner, age 79, of Morris, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at his home with family by his side. Born April 27, 1943, in Marion, IN  to the late Vaughn and Charlotte Turner, Vaughn had been a Morris area resident for the majority of his life.  Vaughn retired from Caterpillar in 1998 after over 30 years of service. He enjoyed bass fishing, running, hiking, and Hoosier basketball.  He spent several years coaching youth baseball and basketball. Most importantly, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will be greatly missed.

Vaughn is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Linda; his children, Jennifer Bahr, Jeffrey Turner, and Joseph Turner; his grandchildren, Alexx Wendel, Madeline Bahr, and Claudia Bahr; his great-grandson, Shawn Wendel; sister-in-law Brenda Turner and nephew Lee Turner.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Larry Turner; and his great-grandson Nate Dixon.

Vaughn’s family would like to express their deep appreciation for Lightways Hospice and At Home Quality Care for their dedicated and professional care.  As it was Vaughn’s wish, cremation rites will be accorded, and private family services will be held.
