Obituary of Gregory Michael Bahr

Gregory Michael Bahr, age 39, passed away Friday, November 4, 2022 at Loyola Medical Center, Maywood, Illinois. He was born September 28, 1983 in Joliet, Illinois to Susan (nee Jamnik) and Michael Bahr.

Gregory was a graduate of Minooka High School class of 2002. Most recently, he worked as a rail car loader for an energy company. He was first and foremost a Green Bay Packer fan, but was also a Chicago Blackhawk and Chicago Cub fan. He enjoyed paintball, disc golf, fantasy football and trivia nights.

He had a memorable laugh and could quote movie lines from numerous movies, “Goonies never say die”

He is survived by his parents, Michael and Susan Bahr; sister, Julie (Ryan) Hertel; nieces, Abby and Emma Hertel; maternal grandmother, Nancy Jamnik. Numerous cousins, aunts and uncles also survive.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, which he shared the same birthday, Elmer Jamnik, paternal grandparents Helen and Thomas Bahr, Uncle Kevin Bahr and Uncle Bill Jamnik.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL.
