Obituary of Billy David Horton
Age 68, of Saunemin, IL and a former longtime Joliet, IL resident, passed at home, unexpectedly, Thursday, November 17, 2022. He was born November 14, 1954 in DuQuoin, IL to Della and Walter Horton.
He is survived by his spouse and friend, Marilou; daughters, Jayme (Sean Wheet) Johnson, Jody (Fransisco Costilla) Horton, Carly (Alex Ortega) Horton and Lori (Doug Pehlke) Horton; son, William Horton; grandchildren, Anna Wheet, Daniel Horton, Alanah Horton, Alex Ortega, Treg Leder, Meghan Higgins, Dominique Olson and Noah Woellner; several great-grandchildren; stepsons, Jason (Jennifer) Kaluzny and Adam (Stephanie Sontag) Nurczyk; sisters, Donna Franklin and Shelley Hilt; several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Robert Daniel Horton; his daughter, Tammy Woellner; his brothers, Walter, Ricky and Daniel Horton; and his beloved dog, Biscuit (aka “Fluffy”).
He was known for being a rock star on the guitar and loved to play for his family and friends. Billy was also an avid fan of Nascar, almost never missing a race.
Visitation for Billy will be held Friday, November 25, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd) Joliet.
A graveside service will take place Saturday, November 26, 2022, 2 p.m. at Mueller Hill Cemetery, Township Road 129 in Pinckneyville, IL.
