Elizabeth Ann Rakidzic, passed away peacefully, at the age of 80, at her home in Joliet, on Wednesday, November 29, 2022, with her loving family at her side.  Elizabeth was born on July 7, 1942 in Middlesboro, KY, the daughter of the late James and Bertha (Wilson) Mackins.  Liz retired from the Secretary of State in 2005.   During her retirement she enjoyed Vegas and Cruising and was always up for a good political debate and was loved by all.  

Elizabeth is survived by her daughter,, Karen St. Germain; her grandchildren, Sean Rakidzic and Bridget Green;  two great grandchildren, Richard (Lane) and Kolton Green; her brother, Sewell (Annie); sisters, Doodle, Kathy (Dave), and Kimberly (Jim); and several nieces and nephews.        

She is preceded by her late husband, Philip; son, Michael; and her siblings, Brenda,  Ricky, Sylvia, Joyce, and Molly.

Funeral Services for Elizabeth Ann Rakidzic will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, December 5, 2022, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet,  Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Sunday at the funeral home from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.
