Obituary of Lawrence C. Robinson

Lawrence C. 'Larry" Robinson, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at the Chateau of Willowbrook Assisted Living.  Larry was born in Chicago, on June 7, 1936, the son of the late Elster and Sadie (nee Gorman) Robinson. He graduated from Chicago Vocational High School, and proudly served our country with the U.S. Army, based out of Wheeler AFB in Hawaii. After being honorably discharged, he was a helicopter pilot for Chicago Helicopter Services. From there he worked at Argonne, Fermi Labs, and Amoco Research until his retirement in 1994.

Larry was very talented.  His favorite pastime was as the lead member of the Running Fox Bluegrass Band.  His specialty was playing the Dobro guitar amongst other instruments.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Debbie (the late Richard) Sanborn; granddaughter, Jennifer Sencenko; great-grandson, Anthony Sencenko; step-daughters, Laura (Russ) Mikuska, and Lisa (Doug Kennedy) Colclasure; sister, Laura (Frank) Rowe; special friend, Linda Daumer; and several in-laws. He is also survived by his furry friend “Heidi”.

He is preceded by his parents; his son, Daniel Robinson; granddaughter, Sarah Sanborn; first wife, Patricia Joan (Nee Koerner); second wife, Gloria (nee Troppe-Borman); brothers, Ed and Russell; and sister Patricia.

Funeral Services for Lawrence C. Robinson were held privately by the family. Interment took place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, with full military honors held under the auspices of the United States Army and the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Memorial Squad.
