Obituary of Leona Heinzel

Leona M. Heinzel (nee Jaeger) Age 88. Peacefully Monday, September 21, 2009 at her home with her family by her side following a courageous three year battle with Renal Disease. Born November 8, 1920 in Joliet, she was a lifelong Joliet resident. A member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and a member of the CCW. Survived by her children, Marian C. Heinzel and Robert S. Heinzel both of Joliet; granddaughter, Amber M. Heinzel of North Aurora, IL; special nephew, David L. Jaeger; brother-in-law, Kenneth P. Heinzel; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Heinzel; parents, Bernard and Josephine (nee Vollmer) Jaeger; sisters, Clara A. Jaeger, Helen (Robert) Jeter, and Marcida (Irvin) Thompson; brother, George (Florence) Jaeger; two nephews, Dr. James E. Rasmussen and Dr. Paul A. Heinzel. Funeral Services for Leona M. Heinzel will be Thursday September 24, 2009 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Entombment Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Memorials in her name to St. Paul the Apostle School Fund or Daybreak Shelter would be appreciated.
