Obituary of Cassandra Rose Marino

Cassandra Rose Marino

Cassandra Rose Marino, passed away unexpectedly, on Saturday, December 17, 2022, in Kalamazoo, MI, at the age of 19.  Cassie was born in Naperville, IL on July 11, 2003, the daughter of Matthew and Angela (nee Bruzdzinski) Marino.  She grew up in Plainfield and Minooka, and was a graduate of Minooka High School.  After high school, Cassie was currently attending Western Michigan University, where she was studying Business and Marketing and was a proud member of the Delta Zeta Sorority.

Cassie was enjoying her college life, spending time with her new friends and sorority sisters. The opportunity to travel home was often fueled by the chance to spend time with her favorite thing in the world, her dog “Doug”. When at school, she requested a picture of Doug from home almost daily.   She loved photography, taking photos, and most important, spending time with her family and friends.  Her beautiful smile was only outshined by her outgoing personality.  She had high aspirations for herself and enjoyed planning for the big things to come. She was strong, independent, charming, funny and loyal. She was truly one of a kind and to know her was to love her. Cassie will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Cassie is survived by her parents; older brother, Matthew (Elizabeth) Marino; younger sister, Maggie Marino; maternal grandparents, Joe and Mary Bruzdzinski; paternal grandparents, George and Linda Marino; and her aunts and uncles, Mike (Carol) Marino, Dan (Courtney) Marino, Dave (Maiko) Marino, Joe (Sam) Bruzdzinski, Tom (Beth) Bruzdzinski; and Katie (Mike) Gawlik.  Many great-aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends also survive.

She is preceded by her great-grandparents, Margaret and Justin McCarthy, Lillian and George Marino, Joseph and Josie Bruzdzinski; and Francis and Peg Oppold.
