Obituary of Frank P. Wegler
Frank Peter “IceMan” Wegler, age 81, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, Saturday, December 24, 2022 at Lightways Hospice, with his loving daughter, Sarah, by his side.
Born July 15, 1941 in Chicago, he was the son of the late George and Katherine (Schieble) Wegler. They preceded him in death along with his brothers, George and Peter, and his sisters, Dorothy and Elsie.
Frank is survived by his children, Sarah Wegler, Ken (Tina) Wegler, and Virginia Heinen; his grandchildren; and his sister, Catherine.
Frank worked as a sheet metal worker for many years and was a proud member of Local #265. He was an avid pool player and a member of the American Poolplayers Association. He also enjoyed fishing. One of his favorite activities was taking rides in his beloved red corvette, usually with no particular destination in mind.
A Memorial Gathering for Frank Wegler will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of a Memorial Service at 7:30 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet. Cremation rites have been accorded and interment will be private.
