Obituary of Louis Bachara
Louis A. Bachara
Age 84, a resident of Joliet and formerly of Matteson, IL, passed away Monday, August 10, 2009 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born April 23, 1925 in Chicago to the late Robert and Anna (nee Bogdan) Bachara. He retired in January 1987 from the Ford Stamping Plant in Chicago Heights, IL following 31 years of service as a tool and die maker. A veteran of WWII, he served in the Army Air Corp from 1943 to 1946 where he was an army engine mechanic 747. He was the recipient of an Overseas Service Bar, American Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, and WWII Victory Medal Corporal Grade. A member of the United Auto Workers Local #588. He was Past Commander of the American Legion Post #474, and a member of St. Vincent DePaul Society.
Mr. Bachara is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ina (nee Flood); a son, Joseph of Joliet; two daughters, Teri (Dale) Rutan of Joliet, and Kelly (Ronald) Rimkus of Beecher; grandchildren, Dale Rutan, Jr., Nicole (Ryan) Gerrick, Sarah Rimkus and Matthew Rimkus; great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Gerrick; great-grandson, Tyler Gerrick; one brother, Daniel of Tinley Park; sister, Helene of Tinley Park; two goddaughters, Linda Armour and Susan Hill; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Louis Bachara will be Friday, August 14, 2009 at 8:30 a.m. from the funeral home to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 404 N. Hickory St., Joliet, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 525 W.
