Carol Broske, a lifelong Joliet /Shorewood area resident, passed away peacefully, at the age of 80, on Monday, January 23, 2023. She was born December 31, 1942 the daughter of the late Minnie (nee Bertani) and Anthony Gagliardo.
Carol attended Joliet grade schools and graduated from St. Francis Academy.
She is survived by her daughter, Amy (Don) Lukos and her son, Joe (Stacy) Broske; three grandchildren, Graesen, Seth and Tyler; two great-grandchildren, and her brother, Richard (Judy) Gagliardo. Several nieces and nephews also survive and her best friend Darlene Muhich.
Carol retired from the Will County Clerk’s office after many years of dedicated service. She enjoyed traveling and being outdoors and had a real appreciation for nature. Her passion was animals, rescuing and giving many good homes throughout her life. She could often be seen taking her dogs for long walks, greeting friends and neighbors along the way.
She liked to dance, listen to music and spend time with family, especially talking with her brother Rich.
Growing up in an Italian family, she was known to be a great cook, with her specialty being chicken and polenta.
Visitation for Carol Broske will be held from 9:00 am until services begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday January 27, 2023 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL, Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum in Romeoville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the Will County Humane Society of Shorewood, IL.
