Janet Ann McDonald, passed away at the age of 64, on Monday, January 31, 2023, at Rush Coply Hospital in Aurora.  She was born on October 14, 1958, the daughter of Joseph and Marie (nee Bowler) Peceniak.  Born and raised in Joliet, Janet was a graduate of St. Frances Academy, Class of 1977.    

In her younger years, Janet enjoyed staying active and loved to ski.  She adored all animals, especially her dogs.  Janet was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and aunt.  She will be missed greatly by all who loved her.

Janet is survived by her son, Cameron McDonald; her mother, Marie Peceniak; siblings, Kathleen (the late Thomas) Lozar, Sue Meyer, and James (Marie) Peceniak; nieces and nephews, Heather (Christopher) Goeppinger, Joel (Brooke) Meyer, Courtney (Tony) Dziurawiec, Kailyn Marriott, Keith (Rebecca) Lozar, Nicholas (Heather) Peceniak, and Jacob Peceniak; and the father of her son, Brian McDonald.  Numerous great nieces and nephews also survive. 

She is preceded by her father, Joseph Peceniak.

Visitation for Janet Ann McDonald will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of prayers at 10:00 a.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL, to St. Mary Immaculate, 15627 Illinois Rt. 59, Plainfield, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.  As it was her request, cremation rites will be accorded following services.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to the charity of your choice.
