Obituary of Deborah Kay Wall

Deborah Kay Wall

(nee Kastelec)

Deborah Kay Wall, passed away peacefully at her home in Minooka, at the age of 71, surrounded by the love of her family.  Deborah was born on October 17, 1951, the daughter of the late Edward and Genevieve (nee Staricha) Kastelec.  She was born and raised in Joliet, IL, and was a graduate of St. Francis Academy High School (JCA).  Deb was a licensed cosmetologist instructor at Professional’s Choice and receptionist at Shorewood Family Dental.   Deb Wall was a fun, fierce, loyal, caring wife, mother and friend who lived and loved life to the fullest.  The impact and guidance she gave to those friends and family that surrounded her throughout her life is impossible to measure.  Her extremely hard-fought battle with cancer was carried out without complaint so that her friends and family could be protected from her infinite struggles.  There are no words to express the deepest care, love and concern her husband Jerry showed to her over the last couple of years as her main caregiver and soulmate.  Deborah Wall will be missed but lives on with her husband, daughters and grandchildren.

Deborah is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Jerry Wall; her two daughters, Danielle (Jeff)Corcoran and Jeren (Randy) Szmergalski; five grandchildren, Camryn Pope, Grace Szmergalski, Jerry Szmergalski, Emma Corcoran and Belle Szmergalski;   sister, Denise (Tom) Mores; nephews and nieces, Nicholas (Eva) Mores, Ashely (Charlie Knudson ) Mores, Berit Mores, Arden Mores and Quinn Knudson;  and her loving friends, Cheryl, Kevin and Kelly McCarthy, Myrna McCarthy, Jackie, Dan, Austin and Aaron Geiser, Nancy, Ray, RJ, Jessica and Kristina Kolodziejski.
